The 1998 Lonely Planet Guide confidently states, "You would have better luck ice skating across the Sahara desert in the middle of summer than hitch-hiking in Denmark". So of course I had to test this out for myself. The friend who I was traveling with and myself waited for no more than 30 minutes before we were picked up and taken 45 minutes north from the ferry terminal in Malmo. We were pleased and arrived in Copenhagen that evening with very little trouble hitch-hiking. You don't need to believe everything that you hear or read. Especially when they are negative, discouraging thoughts and ideas. Quite often, you can achieve just about anything you want once you put your mind to it and decide to take action.
